So I’ve been reading a lot about history and philosophy so I thought it’s time to also read the Bible. Now, the Bible is not one book, it’s 66 (I think) of them, and where to start? I know the popular books – the Gospels, Revelation, Genesis, Exodus – but I’m missing a lot.
So I looked for a random Bible verse selector and here is one.
I pick one a day; and then go to BibleGateway and read the entire chapter – in my case, the Luther translation, and maybe also the King James Version – I like both old German and old English and despise any attempt at modernisation. But that’s just me.
Oh and here’s a great one
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
(Luke 21:25 KJV)
and I heard it here recited…
